BIMI
Brand Indicators for Message Identification — displays a verified brand logo next to authenticated emails in supported inboxes.
BIMI is an email specification that lets brands display their verified logo next to authenticated emails in supported inboxes (Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail, and others). When a brand publishes a BIMI record and meets the authentication requirements, recipients see the logo as a trust indicator before they even open the email.
BIMI requires three things: a properly configured DMARC policy (at "quarantine" or "reject" enforcement), a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) issued by a Certificate Authority like DigiCert or Entrust, and a BIMI DNS record pointing to your logo (in SVG Tiny PS format). VMCs cost roughly $1,200/year and require trademark registration.
For most senders, BIMI isn't the highest priority — getting SPF, DKIM, and DMARC right matters first. But for enterprises and consumer brands, BIMI is becoming table stakes for inbox trust. It also modestly improves open rates by serving as a visual authentication signal that recipients learn to trust.
